What Our Patients are saying...
Thank you to all of the doctors and staff at Jackson Dental for excellent care you give me on every visit. I do appreciate that you ere able to get me in so unexpectedly on Aug on 25th and that you were able to institue a plan of action for my problem. I realize that it interrupted your schedule and your patients that day. I do hope that I wasn't too much a bother for you all. I enjoy all of you so much. From your front office staff to the hygienists, dental assistants and doctors-you are all top notch!

Crowns
As we get a little older, our teeth begin to change and are prone to decay.   There are many possible reasons for this change in your smile.  These reasons can include bruxism (teeth grinding), general decay, cracked fillings, root canals, and many others.  If your tooth is beyond repair with a filling material, we may recommend that the best viable option to save the tooth is a full crown.   The reasons for placing a crown on a badly damaged tooth are to increase durability, cosmetic appearance, and overall support of the chewing function.

Sometimes the structural integrity of a tooth is compromised by decay, breakdown in old restorations, cracks or fractures, root canals, and many other reasons.  When one or more of these problems occur on a crown it is often needed to allow for the full function of the tooth.  If your tooth is beyond repair with a filling material, we may recommend that the best viable option to save the tooth is a full crown.  Our dentists at Jackson Dental Clinic will diagnose when a crown is needed and what type of crown would be appropriate for your specific situation.

Types of Crowns
If we decide that you are in need of a full crown, there are a few different options for the repair of your tooth.  These options include a full porcelain crown, cerec crown, a porcelain fused to metal or gold crown, or a full gold crown.  We will make the determination as to which of these options is the most appropriate for your situation. You can be comfortable in knowing that your new tooth will be virtually unnoticeable and will flawlessly complement the rest of your smile.

Cerec Crown
The cerec crown is a full ceramic porcelain crown that is designed and milled in our office.  The cerec crown is the latest technology available to restore teeth in the most conservative manner possible. The best part is this type of crown can be completed in a one appointment visit.  No more two visit crowns.  There are some cases where a laboratory crown would be better.  Our dentists can diagnose the best treatment option for your mouth.

Onlays
Onlays are partial ceramic inserts that are used in place of a standard filling.  Often broken fillings or large areas of decay are better suited to have one solid restoration.  At Jackson Dental Clinic we have the technology to do one visit, ceramic porcelain onlays.
